The push for racial justice and equity has become part of the national conversation in a way that few could have predicted before the summer began — with an intensity and immediacy that is heartening and hopeful for those who’ve long felt that dramatic change in race relations in this country is long overdue. If you’ve been struggling to come up with a way to be a helpful part of the conversation and movement, opening your wallet isn’t a bad way to start. This list includes both national and state-level organizations fighting for racial equity, as well as bail funds focused on helping protesters get out of jail to fight for their cause another day. It is by no means exhaustive — if you know of an organization or charity that belongs on this list, tell us at kris@cheapism.com.
