With spring break approaching, deals to sunny destinations haven’t stopped. Round-trip flights to Puerto Rico are currently as low as $256.
Fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico’s capital, from a few U.S. cities like Austin, Denver and Washington, D.C. The most expensive flight in this deal is from San Francisco, and costs $300 round-trip.
The cheapest available flights to Puerto Rico typically range from $300 to $600, so definitely book your flights and bask in the sun and sand while they’re still cheap.
Airlines: Delta Air Lines, JetBlue and United Airlines.
Routes: From Austin, Baltimore, Denver, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
How to book: Use Google Flights to find your ideal dates and then book directly with the airline of your choice.
Travel dates: Generally from August through December.
Book by: Within the next three days.
Thanks to Going for discovering these deals. For $49 a year, the site’s Premium membership offers discounts of up to 90% and comes with a 14-day free trial. The Elite membership also finds premium economy, business-class and first-class deals.
Flying to Puerto Rico can typically cost at least $500, but these flights are almost half the price.
Here are some standouts:
We recommend searching through Google Flights to find the best dates and then booking your flights through the airline’s website. Airlines are typically more reliable in the event your flight is canceled, delayed or you need to make a booking change.
If you want to fly from IAD to San Juan, the only option on Google Flights is a 5:26 p.m. flight on United.
For return flights, United offers one that departs San Juan at 7:30 a.m.
Keep in mind that these marked-down fares for San Juan are only for basic economy. United’s basic economy comes with many restrictions. Passengers must pay an additional fee for seat selection and cannot make ticket changes. Also, basic economy flyers are not eligible for upgrades.
United economy seat selection costs anywhere from $15 to $21. You can also purchase preferred seating, which allows you to earn Premier qualifying points, but those are pricier as those seats are $33 to $50.
Book your flights with a card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, like The Platinum Card® from American Express (5 points per dollar on airfare booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel, on up to $500,000 on these purchases per calendar year), Citi Prestige® Card (5 points per dollar on airfare), Citi Premier® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve (3 points per dollar on airfare), American Express® Gold Card (3 points per dollar on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through Amex Travel) or the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2 points per dollar on travel). See this post for more on maximizing airfare purchases.
The information for the Citi Prestige Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
These deals to Puerto Rico are great for spring break — or if you just want to take some time off at the beach. You’ll save a lot on airfare.
Book your flight soon, though. These prices won’t last forever.
Tour Big Ben or catch a show on the West End this year — round-trip fares to London are as low as $431.
Many major airports across the U.S are offering these cheap fares to London, with most costing in the $400 to $500 range. The most expensive flight in this bundle of deals departs from Seattle and costs a little less than $600.
The travel dates for these deals are from September to October, but there is also some limited availability during the summer.
These low fares are only expected to last a couple of days, so book them while they are still available.
Airlines: Delta Air Lines, Icelandair, JetBlue and Norse Atlantic Airways.
Routes: From Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Newark, New York, San Francisco and Seattle to London.
How to book: Search through Google Flights for your best dates and then book directly with the airline of your choice.
Travel dates: Generally from September to October, with some limited availability during the summer.
Book by: The next two to three days.
Thanks to Going for finding these deals. At $49 a year, the Going’s Premium membership has discounts of up to 90% and includes a 14-day free trial. The Elite membership also sources premium economy, business-class and first-class deals.
These deals have ample availability from many major U.S. airports — and there are particularly cheap fares for flights out of the West Coast.
Here are the flights that stood out to us:
We recommend using Google Flights to find your ideal dates and then booking your flights directly on the airline’s website; direct airline bookings are more reliable if a flight is canceled, delayed or has a booking change.
If you want to fly from San Francisco to London this September, then the nonstop Norse Atlantic flight is the cheapest available option on Google Flights.
For returning flights, Google Flights lists the Sept. 14 flight back to San Francisco as one where you’d need to book the tickets separately to get the lowest possible fare.
Even though Google Flights shows the round-trip price between San Francisco and London as $485, the fare actually costs $502 if you book your tickets directly on Norse Atlantic’s website. Sometimes, Google Flights can show price discrepancies between its fares and the fares on airlines’ websites due to the availability of third-party options.
On Norse Atlantic’s website, the $502 round-trip fare is for the carrier’s Economy Light class; with this fare, passengers can only bring a personal item on board and change tickets by paying a fee. The fare from San Francisco to London is $184 and the fare back is $319.
Given that Norse Atlantic’s Economy Light fare is rather bare bones, you’ll have to pay extra if you plan to bring a carry-on and checked luggage. A carry-on costs $45 one-way, and a standard checked bag costs $70.
Seat selection costs extra, too. Standard seats cost anywhere from $20 to $35 extra, whereas seats with the most legroom cost $100. Preferred seats are $60.
Breeze Airways, the new ultra low-cost US carrier from JetBlue founder have round trip airfares travelling to and from Tampa FL (TPA) and Norfolk VA (ORF) for $133, nonstop.
