In her design projects for residential and commercial interiors, designer Marie Burgos emphasizes harmony, comfort and abundant style. She looks for shapes, textures, and colors that will enhance her clients’ lifestyles while adding exciting new design dimensions to their rooms. This is also the approach that Marie has taken in developing the Marie Burgos Collection of carefully curated modern furniture, lighting, décor and art.
Born and raised in Paris, Marie draws inspiration from both French design and her family’s native home of Martinique. Paired with a deep appreciation of mid-century modern furniture, Marie has taken the clean lines that defined the iconic designs of that movement and given them a luxurious new simplicity. Her use of Feng Shui, of which she is a certified master, always plays an important role in bringing a harmonious balance. The result is sophisticated, contemporary furnishings designed for today that playfully pays homage to the best of an earlier era.
From 23k gold and oxidized iron pendants to hand woven paper floor lamps, the Marie Burgos Collection’s lighting options offer a world of aesthetic styles while embodying an ethos of balance and harmony. Multi-award winning French designer Marie Burgos works with a philosophy that focuses on the satisfaction and customization for every client she serves. Her acclaimed work with top clientele in residential and commercial properties has been featured in dozens of publications focusing her unique vision on the interior, while working hand-in-hand with the best in architectural and engineering teams. In addition, with the help of the company’s extensive network which includes builders, millworkers, artists and architects, Marie and her team are able to fully tailor each and every space constructed to make all clients’ dreams possible.
About the Marie Burgos Team:
The Team is comprised of four talented and industrious interior designers, project managers and creative talents including Marie’s husband, photographer and filmmaker, Francis Augustine. Born on the island of Martinique surrounded by natural beauty, Francis developed an early passion for photography. Today, he is well known as a talented and versatile photographer who captures simplicity and perspective in everything from architecture, to fashion, to fine art. His photography has been featured in popular newspapers and magazines, and has been showcased in exhibitions in Paris, New York and Martinique.
Marie and Francis also collaborate closely on the Marie Burgos Design Collection, a line of products inspired by their heritage and the nostalgia of their home on the island of Martinique. The couple designs and produces the product line, as well as curate additional pieces that resonate with their aesthetic and company philosophy. Francis drives the creative with the vision of his photography, while Marie incorporates and leads the full design while maintaining the integrity of the brand.
Marie’s Experience and Company Honors:
Marie Burgos holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Paris, an Interior Design Degree from New York University, and is a certified Feng Shui Master. Fluent in French, she has lived and worked in Paris, London, and New York.
Marie and the company have been honored with top awards, and have also been featured in multiple interior design books and prominent publications.
